Likelihood of further Islamization of Europe to grow

The German government decided to extend its participation in operations of the EU against illegal carriers of refugees in the Mediterranean Sea. About 950 German soldiers will have the right to detain and destroy the boats of the carriers.

Shamil Sultanov, President of the Center for Strategic Studies ‘Russia — Islamic World’, thinks that the problem of refugees makes the current situation difficult not only for Europe, but also for Turkey, as the problem of migrants is being actively used on the eve of the parliamentary elections. In the current state of corruption in official structures, even the money that was allocated for refugees was stolen. “It is going to be an especially difficult time for those refugees who are in Turkey this winter. Recently in Syria, winters have also been fairly cold,” the expert says. According to him, several factors influence the situation with refugees – the economic crisis, the lack of money, the budget deficit, which resulted in the same Saudi Arabia reducing transfers of money for refugees from Syria.

Shamil Sultanov concludes that the flow of migrants to Europe will continue. “People are saving themselves, they are saving their children. Why are the young fleeing, 25-27-year-olds? Because they are responsible for themselves and for their children. Everyone has two, three children. Who are these refugees? There are no wealthy Syrians or Iraqis among them, but they are not very poor people. The very poor people, and they are the majority in these Arab countries, stayed at home. The small and middle bourgeoisie have fled, people of the liberal professions: teachers, lawyers, who have no work there, who have been plundered as a result of the civil war of all the small possessions that they had, but they had reserves of money. And due to these stocks of money they are trying to save their children, because the key problem is the family, of course. In the East every child is sacred, especially in these situations,” the expert explains.

Sultanov predicts that the flow will continue for another two to three years. The total number of refugees who move to Europe will be somewhere around 700-800 thousand. And hence the likelihood of the further Islamization of Europe will grow. “If the leaders of the European governments, instead of  fighting now for quotas, would have thought of a plan of financial support, financial support for these refugee camps a couple of years ago, now this would not have happened.”
