The volume of GDP in Azerbaijan in January-August was 4.2% higher than in the same period in 2014. This sector of the economy isn’t associated with oil in comparison with the same period of last year. Moreover, it grew by 7.3%. The key terms of GDP are in the areas of production: industry, agriculture and the service sector.

It means that these sectors of the economy are independent on oil and gas production, which amounted to 54.34% of the GDP of Azerbaijan.

According to experts, this reflects the solid progress of the republic in the development of a modern economy based on industrial technology, not on extraction of oil resources.
