Baku hosts VI International Forum ‘Dialogue of Languages and Cultures of the CIS and SCO’

Sergey Lebedev, said that the list of higher education centers of the
CIS should be expanded with the status of base organizations for
languages and cultures, Trend reports.
Levedev was speaking at the VI International Forum entitled ‘Dialogue
of Languages and Cultures of the CIS and SCO in the XXI century’.
The forum was organized by the Moscow State Linguistic University and
Baku Slavic University, supported by the Interstate Fund of
Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS.
Lebedev noted the significant role of state support for the dialogue
of cultures. He believes that the dialogue needs young people of the
CIS states to be involved.
The forum was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the CIS and was
held in the form of plenary and sessional meetings.
Well-known political figures, officials of state and executive
authorities, ministries and services, academies of sciences,
parliamentary deputies, heads of higher education centers and leading
CIS scientists were at the forum.
The Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Education, Irada Guseynova, said
that the Russian language has become part of the mentality of
Azerbaijani people. She said that President Ilham Aliyev continues to
pay special attention to educational and humanitarian cooperation.
Guseynova noted that Azerbaijan supports initiatives by Russian higher
education centers to study the Azerbaijani language. An Azerbaijani
Center has opened at Moscow State Linguistic University.
