Ramzan Kadyrov to restore medieval towers of Chechnya

The head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, has urged the population of the
republic to render all possible assistance in the restoration of
medieval towers of historical value located in the region.

“There is no difference, how big or small the tower is: all of them
represent for us an historical value. Every stone of these towers
carries information about the history of our nation. Every citizen of
the republic can take part in the preservation and restoration of
historic towers. We must preserve our history and pass these unique
architectural creations on to the younger generation, so that they can
be proud of their past and their ancestors,”Kadyrov said.

According to the press service of the republic, in 2009 the Chechen
Ministry of Culture, on the initiative of Kadyrov, developed a
national “Culture of Chechnya” program, which aims to monitor the
ancient towers and restore the tower network..

At the present moment three towers have been restored in the framework
of the project.
