Georgia is always ready for discussions with Russia as a sovereign
state, depending on the goodwill of Moscow, Georgian President Mikhail
Saakashvili said on Tuesday while visiting the Georgian Interior
Ministry, News-Georgia reports.

At the same time, the head of state stressed that “if they want to
talk with the Georgian people through conquest, provocation,
intimidation, bribery and espionage - that's their choice, and such
actions will not contribute to our future relationship, which, I hope,
will be established, nor to regional security, nor to their (Russian),
long-term interests."

Saakashvili also said that Georgia, expressing a willingness to
negotiate, "must be on its guard," not forgetting "what a phenomenon
she is dealing with."
