Syria will be glad of the creation of Russian military base in Latakia, ambassador says

The Syrian authorities will welcome Russia's decision to establish a military base in Latakia if such a decision is taken by Moscow, the ambassador of the republic to the Russian Federation Riad Haddad stated.

"We agree to any initiatives that come from Russia. If Russia agrees, then Syria will only welcome this step, because it will be directed against terrorism in our land," RBC quoted him as saying.
