Germany won't lift sanctions against Russia

The German government is not going to cancel the economic sanctions against Russia, the head of the Federal Chancellery of Germany Peter Altmaier reported.

According to the politician, the role of Russian President Vladimir Putin is really important in resolving the Syrian crisis. "But this does not mean that we will change position on the Ukrainian issue. We will not succumb to blackmail," RIA Novosti quotes Altmaier as saying.
