Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has signed a decree making celebrations
of the festival of Kurban Bayram (November 16 and 17) official days
off, Yuga.ru reports, citing the press-service of the Chechen
government.

Kadyrov ordered that all low-income families be provided with material
support for the celebrations.

Kurban Bayram is a Muslim holiday held on the 10th day of Dhu
al-Hijjah. People hold sacrificial ceremonies. The meat of the
sacrificed animals is split into three parts: one for people in need,
one for friends and relatives and one for the family.
