Elmar Mammadyarov meets with UN High Representative of Alliance of Civilizations

Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said at a meeting in New York on the sidelines of the 70th UN General Assembly session with the UN High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations, Nasir Abdulaziz al-Nasser.

The Foreign Minister stressed that Azerbaijan, which is a member of the UN Alliance of Civilizations Group of Friends community, successfully implements a number of initiatives to achieve its objectives.

Nassir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser stressed Azerbaijan's contribution to intercultural dialogue and understanding, he thanked it for hosting the 7th Global Forum of the UN Alliance of Civilizations, which will be held in 2016 in Baku.

Al-Nasser also pointed to the increasing importance of this forum in Azerbaijan, which has a rich tradition of multiculturalism and tolerance, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
