Caucasian results of investment forum Sochi-2015

The investment forum Sochi-2015 has come to an end in Krasnodar Territory. The matter of investment in the Caucasian region became one of the central issues at the event. 

Minister for the North Caucasus Lev Kuznetsov noted that recently investments were made by the state in the republics of the Caucasus. The main aspect of the public investment was the social sphere. He added that the investment program should be completely changed in terms of the current economic conditions.

"Probably, it was reasonable and justifiable in view of the accumulated problems in the social sector of our regions. However, the new reality of Russia is global challenges.  We cannot continue to wait, relying on the federal budget. As Dmitry Medvedev cited Alexander Bella yesterday, ‘‘the door has already closed.’’ ‘‘But another door is open," said Kuznetsov.

The minister added that the economy of the Caucasus region shows a stable and positive dynamic. Thus, in the course of half of the year industrial production increased by 5%, agriculture increased more than 1%.

Almost all the Caucasus republics presented their investment portfolios at the forum in Sochi. The head of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov, signed 12 agreements with investors worth more than 10 billion rubles. The agreements relate to the construction industry, infrastructure, agriculture, industry and medicine. Now we are discussing the realization of projects such as the construction of a greenhouse complex on the territory of the republics, as well as a logistics center in the Sunzha district, serial production of unmanned aircraft systems for agricultural purposes, and the construction of a complex for the production of poultry meat.

The head of Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, signed an agreement in Sochi on the interaction of socio-economic development of the first persons of the Ulyanovsk and Tula regions, Ingushetia, Tatarstan and the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District. In addition, Rotas Group is to build plant for construction materials in Stavropol during 4 years.

The North Ossetian delegation headed by Prime Minister Vyacheslav Bitarov presented projects at the forum in various sectors of the real economy. Among them were the multi-residential complex Victoria in Vladikavkaz, a company for the production of medical glass, as well as a project for the production of high-quality furniture. In addition, the North Ossetian authorities brought innovative projects of three types of mini-breweries for the production of beer. An agreement with the international retailer Ltd. Metro Cash & Carry was also among the signed agreements.  

Vyacheslav Bitarov expressed confidence that participation in the forum provides an opportunity to develop the regions, provides development of new ideas, as well as helps to find investors in order to attract them.

‘‘Karachay-Cherkessia signed four investment agreements in Sochi worth more than 25 billion rubles,’’ the head of the republic Rashid Temrezov said. "Thus, we signed three major projects: the construction of the Teberda tungsten plant, construction of a plant for medical glass and construction of a plant for production of basalt. We also signed an action plan to implement the agreement with the Republic of Crimea, signed at the Sochi forum in 2014."

"All our investment projects always took place in conjunction with the Sochi Forum. Everything that we signed in Sochi is either has already been implemented, or is being implemented," Temrezov said.

The Dagestani delegation was headed by Ramazan Abdullatipov. Thus, one the day before the opening of the forum, the mayor of Sochi Anatoly Pakhomov and the head of Kaspiysk Magomed Abdullayev participated in the opening ceremony of the exhibition and sampling of the Dagestan boutique Dagestan toastmaster in Sochi. Cognac and wine production of the country was represented there.

When Dmitry Medvedev visited the exhibition hall of Dagestan, he was showed a product of the plant Aviaagregat - a light single-engine double training aircraft SR-10, as well as a project of microelectromechanical systems for aviation.

The authorities of Kabardino-Balkaria showed a range of unique investment at the forum worth 15 billion rubles. 

"We arrived at the investment forum in Sochi with 10 investment projects estimated at 15 billion rubles. We presented mainly agricultural enterprises, industries and health resort sohere," the head of the region Yuri Kokov said.
