Ankara may reconsider purchasing Russian gas over an incident in which a Russian aircraft entered Turkish airspace, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.

"Russia should be sensitive to these issues. We are the number one buyer of Russian natural gas. Losing Turkey will be a serious loss for Russia. If necessary, Turkey can buy natural gas elsewhere," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.

According to Erdogan, Russia's explanation on Turkish air space violation is "frivolous and inconclusive".
