Knife attacker killed in Jerusalem

Israeli police shot dead a man who tried to stab a guard in the Old City of Jerusalem.

"Near the Lion's Gate the terrorist took out a knife and tried to attack the police officer, he was shot dead on the spot," RIA Novosti cited a police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld as saying.

According to the head of the army press service, Peter Lerner, the terrorist attacked the officer, but he was wearing a protective vest and was not injured.
