Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security conducts anti-terrorist operation

The Azerbaijani Ministry of National Security has conducted an anti-terrorist operation. Five citizens, who took part in the armed conflicts in Syria and Iraq, were arrested as suspects (Namig Guliyev, Khalid Hajiverdiyev, Taleh Ahmadov, Elvin Asgarov and Anar Mahmudov).

It was revealed that in 2012-2015 they participated in the activities of certain armed groups in Syria and Iraq, including Islamic State, Jabhat al-Nusra and Jund al-Khalifah.
