Ancient Georgian manuscripts under protection of UNESCO
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe most ancient Georgian manuscripts have been included on UNESCO’s Memory of the World list.
It is reported that a collection of Shota Rustaveli's manuscripts, the poem ‘The Knight in the Tiger's Skin’ and hand-written manuscripts of the Byzantine Empire are in the National Archives of Georgia now.
‘Memory of the World’ is documentary heritage, which represents the majority of the world's cultural heritage. Now the register of the Memory of the World contains 348 documents and documentary collections from all five continents.
