Crimea is under the food embargo imposed by Ukraine, which gives a chance to other countries to increase exports of food to the peninsula, the assistant head of Rosselkhoznadzor, Alexey Alexeyenko, told Vestnik Kavkaza.

"Turkey is the closest country to the Crimea. In addition, it has great potential to provide the peninsula with food. And it's not just about food, but absolutely any assistance," the official said.

"I visited Turkey recently and had a very fruitful meeting with the representatives of the government and private sector. I believe in mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in this field," Alexei Alekseenko summed up.
