Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will hold talks at the highest level in Astana today within the framework of his official visit to Kazakhstan.

Despite the fact that this is the first visit by Shinzo Abe to Kazakhstan, he will be meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev for the fourth time. Kazakhstan and Japan have traditionally maintained close relations in the field of disarmament, nuclear non-proliferation and peaceful nuclear energy, but the main topic of today's meeting will be economic relations.

"In addition, in recent years Japanese companies in exploration and extraction of natural resources, as well as production industry, started to actively operate in Kazakhstan's market," Shinzo Abe said.
