Nikolay Topornin: ‘’EU is trying to win over Turkey’’
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Associate Professor of European Law (University) of the MFA of the Russian Federation, Nikolay Topornin, spoke about the attempts by the EU to strengthen cooperation with Turkey so as to work together over the problems of migration flows to Europe. The European migration crisis continues to grow, and the European Union now has to reckon with the opinion of the states that are not members of the EU which were excluded from decision-making at the beginning of the European migration collapse. This is confirmed, for example, by the recent initiatives of German Chancellor Angela Merkel – Germany's willingness to speed up Turkey's accession to the EU, make it easier for Turkish citizens to obtain Schengen visas and to fund the refugees on its territory in exchange for the promise of the Turkish leadership to stop the flow of refugees to Europe.
