Russia to supply helicopters to Afghanistan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaFederal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) of Russia informed the U.S. that Rosoboronexport would be the main executor of the contract about the supplies of the helicopters Mi-171 to Afghanistan, said to RIA Novosti Alexander Mikheyev, the Deputy Director of Rosoboronexport, after the opening ceremony Airshow China 2010.
"All the helicopters will go to the Air Force in Afghanistan. The Mi-171 is an ideal model for the weather in this country," noted Mikheyev.
The proposal to supply Russian helicopters to Afghanistan came from the United States.
