Armenian MPs adopt amendments to Electoral Code
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Armenian parliament approved the amendments to the Electoral Code and the law 'On Identification Cards', allowing holders of ID cards to use them instead of passports to vote during elections, in the second and final reading.
During the voting ID cards become equivalent to passports, but ID cards will not be stamped.
The amendments were backed by 74 lawmakers; 13 MPs voted against and 18 abstained. The bill was prepared by a group of deputies from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
