Chechnya has opened a mosque named after Magomed Mitayev in the
village of Tsotsi-Yurt, where prayers will be held for Kurban-Bayram,
Yuga.ru reports.

The Magomed Mitayev mosque resembles the Kunt-Haji Kishiyev mosque in
the center of the Kurchaloy district and the Vakhi Jamalkhanov mosque
in Urus-Martan. Nonetheless, the Magomed Mitayev mosque has special
architectural features making it unique.

It covers 2000 square meters and can hold 5,000 people. It has a 20
meter-tall dome with a diameter of 15.5 meters. It has a summer
gallery on the northern side. There are four 47-meter-tall minarets.

Construction of the mosque started in May 2009, financed by the
Regional Social Fund of the Russian Hero, Ahmad Hajji Kadyrov.

Chechnya is celebrating Kurban-Bayram. November 16 and 17 are days off.
