Representatives of the National Coordination Committee of Syria, which is considered as a moderate opposition, flew to Moscow for consultations with Russian diplomats. The opposition disagree with Moscow on the prospects of Syrian President Bashar Assad, but agree that the most important thing now is to deal with terrorist organizations that are fighting in the country.

"The Soviet Union and Russia has always been a friend of the Syrians, as well as the whole Arab nation. In this regard, I would like to emphasize that the current Syrian problem, and the suffering being experienced by the Syrian people, are the result of the following reasons: firstly, it is the result of the despotism of the ruling Syrian regime in relation to the Syrian people over many decades. The second reason is the external opposition, which hoped that the so-called friends of Syria from abroad will help it through military means, " a member of the executive committee of the National Coordination Committee of Syria, Mohammed Hijazi said

According to him, some Arab regimes also tried to solve our problem. ‘’Many of them even want us to establish a state in the form of a caliphate, even though it contradicts the traditions of the Syrian people, and the traditions of Islam. And that is why at the regional level, unfortunately, the intervention of Arab states and external powers of the West, and so on, all of this has led to bloodshed, because these external forces had huge financial and material resources. That is why before, these powers were hoping that only a military solution will bring them success, but now it has become evident that it is not like this. And so they had to agree to hold Geneva-1 and Geneva-2 ".

Mohammad Hijazi believes that it is necessary to combine the efforts of all the opposition groups which advocate a political settlement at the meeting of Geneva-3: ‘’We welcome all the external forces which advocate a political settlement of the conflict. We also hope that the Arab countries will support us. Russia also plays a very important role here. And consequently we want from Russia, from Egypt, to continue to work in this direction, so that they could contribute to the unification of efforts and positions within the Syrian opposition, and at the same so that the decision was based on Geneva-1 Declaration. "

At the same time a member of the executive committee of the National Coordination Committee, complained that "there are, of course, forces that do not want any political solution in Syria. They want to continue the fratricidal war that brings more and more suffering to the Syrian people. But we stand in the defense of Syria, the preservation of Syria, and support the efforts of Russia, support the position of Russia, support the position of Egypt. And we are ready to hold any meeting of the opposition in any place to have a dialogue and agree on a peace settlement. We want Russia to do everything possible to persuade the ruling Syrian regime to go for a political settlement and to take practical steps in this direction. "
