''The Orel Region is actively cooperating with the republics of the North Caucasus and intends to establish cooperation with the countries of the South Caucasus, including Azerbaijan,'' its governor Vadim Potomsky said, answering questions of Vestnik Kavkaza at a press conference at the permanent representation of the Orel region under the Russian President.

"You know that I and vice-governor Bekkhan Ozdoev travelled all over the North Caucasus. We visited almost all the republics. We concluded agreements on joint activities with almost all the republics. We are very grateful to the leaders of the republics: Ramazan Abdullatipov and Yunus-bek Yevkurov. Unfortunately, Ramzan Kadyrov was away, and Chechnya is the only republic with which we haven't managed to sign an agreement, but it is not a matter of principle. I would like to meet with him,'' Vadim Potomsky said.

"The agreement has been concluded, so now we should move from words to deeds, because there are some logistics: we want to buy some products in the republics of the North Caucasus, and, accordingly, we have products we would like to supply there. First of all, grain crops, flour, cereals.

We discussed with Ramazan Abdulatipov deliveries of municipal engineering to Dagestan.

This proposal will be mutually beneficial. "These plants need to be adjusted to bank guarantees of the same regions on leasing schemes in order not to stop the production cycle. Meanwhile, we produce domestic equipment, but with imported components. So now we are working with the North Caucasian republics. Everything depends on these leasing schemes being implemented in order to receive bank guarantees," Vadim Potomsky concluded.

In addition, the Orel regional administration intends to develop relations with the countries of the South Caucasus. "We are interested in Azerbaijan, as we are trying to promote an agreement with Dormash about a supplement of a large number of graders. If we manage to implement it with the use of state bank guarantees, in this case the plant will work at full capacity because Azerbaijan will buy not one or ten graders, but a range of graders. I hope that Azerbaijan will sign this agreement, because we have good technical characteristics and quality, so our products are competitive in the market,'' the governor said.
