Sheki and Colmar developing cooperation
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaA charter of friendship and cooperation was signed between the French town of Colmar and the Azerbaijani town of Sheki.
The mayor of Colmar, Gilbert Meyer, said that the signing of the document is a result of discussions on cooperation between the parties.
The chief executive of Sheki, Elkhan Usubov, speaking about the contribution of the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mehriban Aliyeva, to the preservation of the national cultural heritage of Azerbaijan, noted the ongoing work on her initiative on including the Sheki State Historical-Architectural Reserve 'Yukhari bash' on UNESCO’s World Heritage list.
The chairman of the France-Caucasus friendship group, Andre Richard, and Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov expressed confidence that the document would promote the development of relations between the two countries.
The charter of friendship and cooperation was signed in Sheki on May 20, 2015, so, respectively, it has to be signed in Colmar too, AzerTAg reports.
