Erdogan: we didn't know that aircraft belonged to Russia

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the Turkish leadership learned that the downed Su-24 belonged to Russia only following statements of the Russian Defense Ministry.

“We learned that the aircraft belongs to Russia from the officials of the country,” RIA Novosti cited Erdogan as saying.

"The aircraft crashed inside Syria, although some parts of it landed in Turkey and injured two Turkish citizens," he added.
