North Caucasus establishes FMS

The interregional office of the Russian Federal Migration Service (FMS) will be established in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), RIA Novosti reports, citing the director of the service Mikhail Turkin.


The structure plans to start work on January 1, 2011. It will coordinate the work of the territorial agencies of the FMS in the NCFD. It is due to high dynamism of migration in Russia in general and in the NCFD particular.


Turkin said that the interregional office will cooperate with the office of the authorized presidential envoy to the NCFD, carry out analytical, informative and control functions of the territorial structures of the FMS in the federal district.


Currently the FMS is working on material-technical aspect of the new office, as well as staff training and organization of work of the structure.
