Azerbaijan approves amendments to law 'On freedom of religion'

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved amendments to the law 'On freedom of religion', which prohibit conduction of Islamic rites and ceremonies by people who have received a religious education outside Azerbaijan.

In addition, the ban also includes: voicing of religious slogans and demonstrating of religious attributes (excluding direct wearing of religious attributes) outside of sanctuaries and in public places. Religious flags, according to the changes, can be hung only in places of pilgrimage, in religious centers and offices, Trend reports.
