Sergei Zheleznyak: it is necessary to find a peaceful and civilized solution to the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh

According to him, Russia's desire is peace in the region. "We would really like to see that neither the Armenian nor the Azerbaijann people, either internally or by other countries, are provoked to an escalation of tension. We have all had enough of the tragic events that occurred in our country's history and in the history of Azerbaijan and Armenia . We need to find a peaceful and civilized solution to the problems that exist today," Sergei Zheleznyak said.
In this regard, the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma drew attention to the need for a platform for dialogue between the states. "Due to historic features it will be difficult to form a civilized dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan without Russia. In general, we would like the representatives of both Azerbaijan and Armenia, and Russia and other countries to gather for a discussion of global issues, because dialogue is the most civilized form of finding solutions. Those who are not ready for dialogue, of course, thereby demonstrate their own weakness," he stressed.
Also, referring to the topic of the press conference, the action ‘’All-Russian test on the history of the Fatherland" in the framework of the federal project "Every day proud of Russia!’’, which will test the level of historical literacy of the Russian citizens and compatriots living abroad, Sergei Zheleznyak said that Russia actively supports its scientific and creative relations with all countries of the former Soviet Union.
‘’Contacts with the universities and young people in Azerbaijan are maintained also. I believe that the wider the dialogue in the framework of the public diplomacy between the citizens of our countries is, the less space for various misunderstandings and provocations there will be, which, respectively, will contribute to a better understanding of the interests that should unite our country," the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma concluded.
