Suspected terrorists detained in Istanbul

Turkish police are holding a large-scale counter-terrorism operation in 17 districts of Istanbul, Turkish media report.

Police have already detained several suspected terrorists, but their number and citizenships have not been revealed, Trend reports with reference to the Milliyet newspaper.

Earlier, Turkish special services warned about a threat of terror attacks in some districts of Istanbul. The last large anti-terrorist operation was held in Istanbul on November 12, during which 192 people were detained.
