Syrian Deputy-Foreign Minister, Faisal Mekdad, said that Syria's parliamentary elections are scheduled for the first half of next year.

"We hope that the elections will be held in the first half of 2016" RIA Novosti cited him as saying.

Mekdad said that the current Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was elected with great confidence to him and the position of a number of states that the president of the country should be replaced, is estimated as "a support of terrorists's put pressure on the country's leadership".
