Explosion at Istanbul airport damages five aircraft

The explosion this morning at the airport in Istanbul damaged five aircraft, Transport Minister Binali Yildirim announced.

"Five planes were ddamaged by shards. Weak airport security is out of the question. We correspond to all relevant international safety standards," Reuters cites him as saying.

It is worth noting that the authorities have yet not named the cause of the explosion. According to some experts, it was most likely a bomb, RBC reports.
