Moscow and Tehran to expand cooperation in gas sphere
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaGazprom's deputy chief executive, Alexander Medvedev, said that his company is interested in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC). He stressed that the document will be signed next year.
Medvedev also praised Iran’s decision for offering new model of oil and gas contracts, which is aimed at luring foreign investment to develop the country’s ageing petroleum industry. According to him, Gazprom is ready to transfer its experiences to Iran in various gas sectors, Trend reports.
The managing-director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hamid Reza Araqi, said that the two companies can cooperate and exchange experience in various fields, including construction of gas pipelines, gas storage, gas compressor stations and gas refineries.
