Code of Ethics for civil servants approved in Kazakhstan

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has approved the Code of Ethics for civil servants.

The decree "On measures to further improve the ethics and rules of behavior of public servants of the Republic of Kazakhstan" was posted on the official website of the President.

The Code prescribed the general standards of civil servants' behaviour: for example, civil servants should contribute to strengthening the unity of the people of Kazakhstan and interethnic harmony in the country, respect the state and other languages, traditions and customs of the people of Kazakhstan; to be honest, fair, modest, observe generally accepted moral and ethical standards, to show politeness and correctness while dealing with citizens and colleagues, Interfax reported.
