Iran's Foreign Ministry: new US sanctions against Iran illegal

The latest US sanctions against Iran are illegal, the press secretary of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Jaber Ansari, said.

"Such sanctions are illegal, arbitrary and unilateral. The Islamic Republic of Iran has already warned the US administration about it," he stressed.

"The US officials have mentioned before that the Iranian missile program is not related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). And there is nothing to prevent Iran from pursuing its legitimate right of reinforcing its defense strength and national security," Ansari noted.
