More than 20% of Crimean residents have had to spend New Year's Eve without electricity due to the termination of the energy supply from Ukraine, the Head of SUE Krymenergo Viktor Plakida said at a meeting of staff on the emergency response.

"Unfortunately, only 77% of the Crimean people had an opportunity to celebrate the holiday with electricity. There were significant limitations, but they were removed after 2:00 am,’’ RIA Novosti cites him as saying.

Earlier, the head of Crimea Sergey Aksenov apologized to Crimeans who had to celebrate the holiday without electricity and to find and punish those who had done it.
