Turkish Coast Guard rescues stranded vessel with 57 illegal immigrants
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Turkish Coast Guard has rescued a stranded vessel with 57 illegal migrants near an island in the Aegean Sea. The incident occurred not far from the western coast of the country.
The ship stranded near an island located near the seaside town of Dikili in the province of Izmir. Three sick children and nine adults were rescued with a help of a helicopter. The others were brought ashore with the help of fishing boats, as coastguard ships could not approach the rocky island. According to the Daily Sabah, the migrants were transferred to Greece, Tass reports.
