Russia offers citizenship to foreigners for military service under contract

According to amendments to the law on conscription, published on the website of the Defense Ministry, foreign citizens willing to serve in the Russian army will serve for five years. Russian contract servicemen serve for three years.

Foreigners whose age varies from 18 to 30 have an opportunity for service. There are no education requirement, except knowledge of the Russian language and fingerprinting.

The military service does not require a Russian passport. After three years of service foreigners will receive Russian citizenship.
