The head of Crimea, Sergey Aksenov, assessed the work of the republic's authorities in emergency situation regime as "good".

"I believe that we are coping with this trial with honor. I think that the authorities are coping 'well' but not 'excellently'," he said in an interview to the television channel 'Russia 24', TASS reports.

According to Aksenov, competent and timely decisions are made in 80% of cases. "In 20%, of course, our officials are underperforming. But, nevertheless, we are still learning in this process ... Because it is the first time such a situation has appeared in Russia, and probably in the whole world," he added.

Despite this, Aksenov stressed, the situation on the peninsula is completely controllable and large infrastructure facilities are operating normally.
