Ministry of Communications: law on foreign capital won’t lead to less media in Russia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe deputy head of the Ministry of Communications, Alexei Volin, has stated in an interview for ‘Rossiyskaya Gazeta’ that the amount of mass media won’t reduce in the country after the law on foreign capital enters into force on January 1st. According to the law, citizens of foreign countries won’t be able to own more than 20% of the shares of a particular publication.
"The amount of mass media won’t reduce because of the new requirements. All editions supported by foreign capital will find what to do," RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
