Will Georgia start new year with change of ministers?
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAccording to details that appeared in the Georgian media, reshuffles in the Georgian government will be made under the influence of the covert leader of the republic, the billionaire and former Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili, Georgian political analysts said in an interview with a correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza, commenting on the information about the imminent resignation of the heads of the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Finance and the Foreign Ministry of Georgia.
Above all, the head of the Institute for Strategy Management Peter Mamradze drew attention to this fact. "The most important thing is that such issues are resolved in Georgia according to the centrist structure when the whole system is focused on the person who doesn't have any official position. Ivanishvili is the source of all blessings: both material and political. Thus, he should resolve it. Certainly, Ivanishvili wants only good changes for the country. He has become the so-called master of Georgia. It is a centrist system in the country today," he explained.
"On the other hand, according to the Economy Minister Dmitry Kumsishvili who is known for his close relationship with Ivanishvili personnel changes should not be expected in the near future.
"As for the Minister of Education Tamar Sanikidze, it has been discussed for a long time that he doesn't correspond to his position. She was an accountant before and she has never been involved in the educational system,'' the expert said.
"Speaking about the Minister of Culture, he is a great athlete, but how he managed to become the Minister of Culture... So if these rumors have any grounds (although I still cannot check it), it will mean that Ministers will be replace by people who are closer to the Ivanishvili's team in order to receive a complete control over the government,'' he saids.
The member of the Expert Club of Georgia Vakhtang Maisaya described the current state of things as the "big cleaning of Garibashvili's people." "We can see a complete restructuring and replacing of personnel after Garibashvili's resignation. It is logical and it corresponds to the system the realities that was created in Georgia. The current Prime Minister has no real political significance. He is a technocrat who leads the technical government of Georgia,'' Maisaya said.
"Despite this, Kvirikashvili wants to appoint his people to the posts of Minister of Finance, Minister of Education and Minister of Interior Affairs. These are the key ministries in terms of a big financial and economic crisis."
"The deterioration of the financial and economic situation in Georgia is associated with the Minister of Finance. The Minister of Education is responsible for some problems in the education sector. As for the Minister of Internal Affairs, it is natural that a new person wants a new protege at this level,'' the expert said.
