Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili has arrived in the Moldavian
capital of Kishinev where he met Moldavian authorities.

Saakashvili was to arrive on Tuesday but postponed the visit without
clarifying the reasons. The acting Moldavian President Mihai Ghimpu
awarded Saakashvili with the Order of the Republic.

Saakashvili said at the ceremony that Moldavia and Georgia have a
common European future. Moldavia has the best chances of joining the
European Union, he said. Its success will be followed by Georgia,
Ukraine and Belarus, he added, Gazeta.ru reports.

Commenting on the refusal of Moldavian Ex-President Vladimir Voronin
to meet Saakashvili, he said that it is his personal business. The
Georgian president added that he came to support the people, not
politicians.
