Scientists accused of terrorism released in Turkey

Scientists who were previously accused of terrorism for signing a petition against the military operation in the Kurdish-populated south-eastern provinces of Turkey have been released.

The petition, supported by 1128 Turkish and foreign scientists, was published under the title "We won’t be a part of this crime." The scientific community urged the Turkish authorities to begin negotiations with the Kurds and "stop the carnage and slaughter" in the south-eastern part of the country, RIA Novosti reports.
