Deputy Chief of Staff of the United States in Afghanistan, General Wilson Shoffner has stated that militants of the Daesh terrorist group in Afghanistan act in isolation from its leadership in Syria and Iraq.

"Now we see that they operate intermittently. I would say that they have no opportunity to organize and conduct operations simultaneously more than in one part of the country. We don't see that Daesh organizes operations in Afghanistan from Iraq and Syria," RIA Novosti cites him as saying.
