Russia and Armenia boost military-technical cooperation

Yerevan is hosting a session of the Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for military and technical cooperation. The meeting is chaired by the heads of the Armenian and Russian parts – Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Alik Mirzabekyan and the deputy director of the Federal Service for Military and Technical Cooperation, Konstantin Biryulin.

The Minister of Defense of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, noted that the activities of this commission help increase the defense capabilities of the two countries, and strengthen regional security and stability. He stressed that both Armenia and Russia are located in a single space of security and economy, News.am reports.

The participants of the meeting will discuss the supply of Russian weaponry and fighter aircraft to Armenia, border control measures, modernization of tanks and technical-engineering equipment.

The next meeting of the commission will be held in Russia in the third quarter of 2016.
