Verkhny Lars closed for trucks

The Georgian Military Road has been closed for heavy-loaded lorries due to difficult weather conditions in Georgia until further notice, the Russian Emergency Ministry's office in North Ossetia said.

"Due to the deteriorating weather conditions on the territory of the Republic of Georgia, the inability to ensure safe passage of vehicles, and in accordance with the recommendation of the Border Police of Georgia, the movement of transit heavy-loaded vehicles is prohibited," RIA Novosti cited the ministry as saying.

The movement from the city of Vladikavkaz to the settlement of Lars was stopped from 09:30 MSK.
