The abolition of the first-past-the-post system for the autumn parliamentary elections could not have been decided on at today's meeting of Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili with representatives of a cross-party group of the non-parliamentary opposition, the head of the Ministry of Justice Thea Tsulukiani said, who also took part in the process.

"The cross-party group delivered a demand to the Prime Minister to abolish the first-past-the-post system by 2016 and not 2020. A decision on this subject was not taken today and could not have been taken. We have identified the issues. We know that both models have their positive and negative features, but the Prime Minister promised that he would make a decision as part of the ruling coalition,'' Georgia Online cites her as saying.
