Former member of Hattab’s militant group arrested in Chechnya

Chechen police have arrested a former militant member of the Arabian
mercenary Hattab’s group, RIA Novosti reports, citing a local police
spokesman.

A 33-year-old local of the village of Betti-Mokhk was arrested in the
Nozhay-Yurtovskiy District. He admitted participation in militant acts
against the federal forces in 1999-2002, as a member of Hattab’s
militant group.

The former militant is suspected of committing other grave crimes.
