Ilham Aliyev receives ECO Secretary General

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO), Halil Ibrahim Akca, today.

The head of state noted Azerbaijan's good bilateral relations with member states of the organization, stressing the importance of political and economic cooperation. He added that the country intends to expand it even further.

Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of holding the organization's summits in Azerbaijan.

The President expressed hope that the visit of the Secretary General to Azerbaijan would create a good opportunity for holding discussions on the future plans of the organization.

Halil Ibrahim Akca, in his turn, praised the organization of the last summit of the organization which was held in Azerbaijan. He also noted that Azerbaijan is an active member of the ECO, Trend reports.
