Opposition National Social Democratic Party to participate in parliamentary elections in Kazakhstan
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaAt today's congress, the Kazakh opposition National Social Democratic Party (NSDP) decided to participate in the forthcoming elections to the Majilis (lower chamber) of the parliament of the republic.
Party leader Zharmakhan Tuyakbai noted that the NSDP is participating in the elections in order to "achieve implementation of the reforms proposed by our party for many years to the authorities, to make Kazakhstan an economicaly effective, social, successful, free, truly stable and independent state," RIA Novosti reported, citing Kazakh agency Novosti-Kazakhstan.
Earlier, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev disbanded the Majilis of the parliament after a corresponding appeal from its deputies.
