Azerbaijani pharmacies may be exempt from VAT

At present the Azerbaijani authorities are considering the possibility of exempting pharmacies from paying VAT, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic, Ali Ahmadov, said.

He noted that in some countries medications are either exempt from VAT or taxed by it to varying degrees. Now Azerbaijan is also discussing this issue. Ahmedov assured that a decision will be made that is acceptable to the country as a result of the government's deliberations.
