Iranian inspection approves Russian meat

Red meat provided by Russian manufacturers is recognized by the Iranian authorities as corresponding to the basic conditions of import of livestock products to Iran, the director of the Veterinary Organization of Iran Mehdi Khalaj stated.

"After a series of meetings and relevant assessments, we have stated to the Russian side that supplies of meat will be carried out with complete monitoring from the Iranian side and under the basic medical criteria set by Veterinary Organization of Iran," RIA Novosti quotes him as saying.

Khalaj added that Iranian experts do not see any medical obstacles for deliveries of Russian meat to Iran.
